Langstreckenbusse sind oft nicht per Kreditkarte im Internet bezahlbar, außer man hat eine Chilenische. Auf der Internetseite recorrido.cl kann man mit paypal bezahlen. Ansonsten einfach das Ticket am Bahnhof kaufen.
Achtung! Schaut euch die Zutaten auf den Verpackungen an, oftmals sind viele Zusatzstoffe zum Beispiel auch in Pasta drin, wie Aromen und Vitamine. Wenn ihre keine Nudeln ohne diesem Zeug findet, am besten frische Pasta aus dem Kühlregal kaufen.
Mit der dkb-Kreditkarte als aktives Mitglied ist die beste Variante zu bezahlen. Keine Gebühren und meistens viel besseren Wechselkurs als Bargeld zu tauschen.
Achtung! Wenn ihr mit dem Auto auf der Ruta 5 unterwegs seid müsst ihr mit viel Maut rechnen. (Santiago -> Chiloe and Puerto Montt -> Santiago = 65€ plus 10€ für elektronisches Zollgerät des Stadtgebietes von Santiago)

Attention! Watch the ingredients of the pasta in the supermarket, often the mix stuff inside like flavors and vitamins! If you don’t find a brand without, an alternative is to buy fresh pasta.

Tipps Geld
Geldtransfer ist eine sehr gute Option um Bargeld mit dem besten Wechselkurs zu bekommen. (z.B. Azimo, WesternUnion)
An vielen Stellen (z.B. Hostel, Mietwagen) kann man zwischen 5 bis 15 % sparen, wenn man Bar bezahlt. Einige Plätze erheben eine Gebühr bei Zahlung mit Karte.
In El Chalten sollte man unbedingt mit Bargeld anreisen, denn oft funktionieren die Maschinen nicht. Außerdem gibt es auch hier teilweise 10% Rabatt bei Barzahlung.
Manchmal gibt es eine Mehrwertsteuer, z.B. bei booking.de, aber der Preis für Ausländer ist ohne diese Steuer. Nicht jedes Hotel/Hostel sagt das, aber fragen hilft.
Mit der Deutschen Kreditkarte der dkb gibt es keine Zahlungsgebühren bei ausländischer Währung solange man aktives Mitglied ist.
Seid nicht überrascht, wenn ihr mit Visa in einem Geschäft bezahlt und ihr nach eurem Namen und/oder Passnummer gefragt werdet. Anscheinend gilt das auch für die Leute von hier.
Patagonien ist sehr teuer, viele Aktivitäten werden empfohlen im Voraus zu reservieren bei einer Reise im Sommer.

Tips money
Money transfer is a nice option to get cash and offers the best exchange rate. (E.g. Azimo, western union).
A good way saving money is to pay in cash, you get discount between 5 to 15% (e.g. renting car, hostel). Some places will charge you a fee paying by card.
El Chalten CASH. Often the machine is not working or wifi is unstable. On top of that you often have 10% reduction paying cash.
Sometimes there is tax or better VAT written (IVA not included), e.g. on booking.com. The price for strangers is without that tax! Unfortunately not every hotel/hostel is telling you this, so better ask.
Don’t be surprised if you pay by visa, they will ask you to sign and to right down your passport number. Apparently it’s also for the people here.
Patagonia is pretty expensive, if you travel in summer time it’s also better to book in advance.
Tipps Essen
In manchen Städten findet man nicht oft uns bekanntes Campingessen wie Couscous oder Trockenfrüchte im Supermarkt . Dafür gibt es hier kleine Läden namens „Dietica“ und es ist nichtmal zu teuer.
Empanadas ist gutes preiswertes Essen.
Wenn ihr in Buenos Aires seid verpasst nicht Trockenfrüchte zu essen, sie sind hier wirklich preiswert und sehr lecker.
In El Chalten ist das Restaurant „El Parador“ sehr empfehlenswert.
Tips Food
In some cities you don’t find trekking food like couscous or dry fruits in the supermarket, therefore they have shops called “dietica” and it’s not that much more expensive.

Tipps Reise
Wenn ihr in Ushuaïa seid, verpasst es nicht euch in der Haupt-Touristeninfo und im Besucherzentrum vom Nationalpark Feuerland einen freien Stempel in euren Reisepass geben zu lassen.
Bedenkt, dass der Eintritt im Nationalpark Feuerland nur 3 Tage/2 Nächte umfast. Ihr könnt für längeren Aufenthalt ein Kombiniertes Ticket für die doppelte Zeit bekommen und zahlt für die andere Hälfte nur den halben Preis.
Wenn ihr mit einem Langstreckenbus unterwegs seid werdet ihr feststellen, dass es Angestellte gibt die nur für das Gepäck zuständig sind. Wir sind nicht sicher, ob sie einen Basislohn erhalten. Manche fragen direkt, andere sind einfach glücklich wenn ihr ein paar Pesos gebt. Es muss nicht viel sein, aber es ist eine Geste. (Wir gaben um die 20 ARS).
Nachtbusse ersparen die Kosten für eine Nacht im Hotel.
Für den Fall der Fälle druckt eure Bustickets besser aus. Ihr bekommt sie in der Busstation mit eurem Pass.
Wenn ihr die den Busanbieter „marga tagsa“ umgehen könnt, macht es. Der Höhepunkt war eine Scheibe direkt hinter uns, die vom Wind einfach rausgerissen wurde. Zwei Stunden warten für einen Ersatzbus, aber es bleibt irgendwo trotzdem ein Erlebnis.
Eine sehr gute Seite um Bustickets zu kaufen ist „plataforma10“. Andere Anbieter haben nicht immer die Option, dass man die Passnummer eingeben kann, was dazu führt, dass man nicht zahlen kann.
Die SUBE- Karte für die Metro und Bus in Buenos Aires ist auch in anderen Städten Argentiniens zu benutzen, wie z.B. Ushuaïa, Bariloche.
An öffentlichen Toiletten, z.B. am Busbahnhof sind Frauen im Eingangsbereich um Toilettenpapier zu verkaufen. Die Benutzung der Toiletten ist jedoch kostenfrei.
Wir empfehlen für mehr Sicherheit einen Wasserfilter mitzunehemn (Wir haben einen Sawyer mini.)
Wenn ihr das Budget und die Geduld habt Argentinien mit dem Auto zu bereisen, ist eine gute Idee. Alles ist sehr weit, nicht sehr einfach zu erreichen mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln und man kann einfach überall wild campen. Ein Auto in Argentinien zu kaufen ist ziemlich kompliziert, es sei denn ihr kennt jemanden. Außerdem könntet ihr damit nur innerhalb Argentiniens reisen. Manche empfehlen ein Auto in den Vereinigten Staaten zu kaufen und Richtung Süden zu fahren, aber das hängt von euren Reiseplänen ab. Andere verschiffen ihr Auto aus Europa, was allerdings paar Steine kostet, aber vielleicht lohnenswert für eine lange Reise.
Wenn ihr an der Ostküste entlang kommt sind Escondida oder Punta Lomo in der Region von Trelew und Puerto Madryn sehr zu empfehlen.
Mit dem Bus von Ushuaïa nach Rio Gallegos: Der Grenzübergang ist etwas kompliziert und langwierig, selbst wenn der Bus nicht in Chile anhält, muss man dreimal den Zoll zum An-und Abmelden durchmachen. Man darf keine Früchte, Käse oder andere frischen Sachen mitnhemen, Stochprobenartig wird vom Zoll das Gepäck kontrolliert und weggeschmissen, was nicht sein darf. Plant also etwas mehr Zeit ein als angegeben. Druckt euer Ticket, selbst wenn drauf steht „e-Ticket“ (online Ticket). Es ist manchmal notwendig zum Zeigen. Wenn man online gebucht hat, kann man sich das Ticket einfach im abahnhof ausdrucken lassen, dort gibt es eine Liste der Passagiere.
In El Chalten ist die beste Wanderung der Vuelta Huemul, aber die Ranger sind schlecht.
In Bariloche gibt es einen Gepäckraum.
Tips travel
If you are in Ushuaia don’t miss the free stamps for your travel memories in your passport. You can ask one in the main tourist information and the other in the visitor center of the NP Terra del Fuego.
Keep in mind that the entrance fee for NP Terra del Fuego covers only 3 days/ 2 nights. You can by a combo for double time, which is plus half time the price.
When you travel by long distance bus, there are people just for the luggage. I’m not sure if they are paid. Some ask you directly for tips, others are just very happy if you give something. It doesn’t have to be much, but it’s a gesture. (We gave around 20 ARS)
Night bus saves one night to pay.
In case, just print your bus ticket. (You get it in the bus station with your passport.)
If you can avoid the bus company “marga taqsa”, do it. The highlight was that just behind us a window was ripped out by the wind during the ride. Two hours waiting for another bus followed, but it’s an adventure though.
A helpful website to buy bus tickets is plataforma10. With other companies you may have trouble to find the option to put your “pasaporte” which leads to the dilemma that you cannot pay.

If you have the budget and patience to have a car for long Argentina travel is a good option. Everything is really far, not easy to access by bus and foot and you can just wild-camp everywhere. Buying a car in South America seems very difficult and you cannot cross boarders which is annoying. Some people suggest to buy a car in the States and make a road trip southwards, this depends on your travel plan. Others buy their car in Europe and ship over by boat (container) which is expensive, but maybe worth it seen for a long trip.
If you pass the east coast a nice place for wildcamping is Escondida or Punta Lomo in the area of Trelew and Puerto Madryn.
Bus from Ushuaia to Rio Gallegos: boarder crossing difficult, even even the bus doesn’t stop in Chile, you pass the boarder as usual. You cannot take fruits, cheese or stuff like that. There is a scan control and they will throw it. Also plan some more time because the time at the boarder stops (three times) can take a long time. PRINT your ticket, even if the email says e-ticket. Apparently it’s sometimes necessary to show at the boarder. If you buyed online, you can just ask at the bus station to print it for you, they have a list.

The Patagonia National Park is a must. Unfortunately it is not free entrance anymore, but the trails are fabulous. You feel like in another world. If you didn’t see Guanacos yet, here is your chance.

Der Nationalpark Patagonia ist zwar seit einigen Jahren leider nicht mehr kostenfrei, aber mehr als empfehlenswert. Atemberaubende Aussichten, man kommt sich vor wie in einer anderen Welt. Wer bisher keine Guanakos (Lama Guanicoe) zu Gesicht bekommen hat, hier ganz bestimmt.
We made it until Villa O’Higgins and if you have done all the road of the Carretera austral it is kind of a nice ending. There is a little trek (and big trail if you like) that offers a great view over the valley and into the mountains which give an idea how rough and complex these region gets afterwards. If you want to continue you will have to abandon your car, organize boats and cross places where nobody lives or walks.
The boat between Puerto Yungay and Puerto Bravo is free of charge (3 times a day). Die Fähre zwischen Puerto Yungay und Puerto Bravo ist kostenfrei und fährt 3 mal am Tag.

Mit der Zeit im Nacken schafften wir es dennoch bis Villa O‘Higgins, dort wo die Straße der Carretera austral im Süden aufhört. Wer hier weiter möchte, muss laufen und Boote organisieren. Es gibt einen kleinen (und auch größeren) Wanderweg der zu einer erstaunlichen Aussicht führt. Es lässt nur ahnen wie wild und weit das Gebirge ist.
We absolutely recommend the Marble Caves nearby Puerto Rio Tranquilo/ General Carrera Lake. Even if it is very touristic, it is a very special formation of nature. You have to buy a boat trip or you can rent kayaks, usually in groups. If you are there out-season you have to get up early and maybe accept a higher price. Some people negotiate or aim for the cheapest company – there are quite a lot, everything in Rio Tranquilo is about the trip to the Marble formations. If possible you should choose a sunny day to get the outstanding colors and choose the morning because of upcoming wind in the afternoon. Also keep in mind, that cash is the king.

Wir empfehlen absolut die Marmorhöhlen bei Puerto Rio Tranquilo/ See General Carrera. Auch wenn der Ort sehr touristisch geprägt ist, es ist ein außergewöhnliches Gebilde der Natur. Es gibt im Grunde zwei Optionen: man kauft ein Ticket für eine Bootstour an einen der vielen Ständen oder man kann Kajaken. Außerhalb der Saison gibt es allerdings nicht viele Veranstalter die spontane Touren anbieten. Entweder man hat ein Datum und bucht im Voraus oder man hofft, dass ein Veranstalter eine Gruppe zusammenbastelt. Immerhin gibt es hier nur Restaurants und den Ausflug aufs Wasser. Ein sonniger Tag ist empfehlenswert für das Farbschauspiel und es ist besser am Morgen, da nachmittags oft Wind aufkommt und teilweise großer Wellengang entstehen kann. Auch wichtig: Bargeld!

If you have enough time go to Futaleufu. It was the highlight of this trip. Even if it is a detour outside the Ruta 7 it is worth it! Or maybe it could be a starting point as the road 231 is making the connection between Chile and Argentina. Doing Rafting in this wild river is a memory for lifetime. The company we chose, well the only one who offered a ride in off season, was „Origenes Patagonia“. Very friendly and very well organized.

Auf einem Abzweig der Ruta 7 gelangt ihr nach Futaleufu. Es ist gewiss ein Umweg, oder ein Einstieg, da diese Straße (sowohl die 235 als auch die 231) Chile und Argentinien verbindet. Die Spezialität an diesem Ort mit gewaltigem Fluss: Rafting und zwar unvergesslich. Aber auch hier ist es besser vorzubuchen, wir hatten Glück, dass der Veranstalter „Origenes Patagonia“ sich viel Mühe gegeben hat dieses Abenteuer wirklich zu machen.
Near Chaitén you will find the beach of Santa Barbara with a free cold shower. It is a perfect basecamp to do the hike to the Chaitén volcano connecting to the Park Pumalin. You walk steep up through jungle and on the platform you can watch the life-dangerous mountain smoking. It’s not very difficult and totally worth seeing.
In Chaitén you will find an abandoned prison which has become a real attraction for tourists. Some are crazy enough to sleep here.

Gleich neben der kleinen Stadt Chaitén findet man den Strand Santa Barbara, ideal zum Campen, sogar mit freier kalter Dusche. Es ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt um zu der Aussicht auf den nahegelegenen Vulkan Chaitén zu gelangen, im direkten Anschluss zum Park Pumalin. Der Weg ist nicht sehr kompliziert, aber steil durch den Dschungel und oben wartet ein spektakulärer Blick auf den lebensgefährlich dampfenden Berg.
In Chaitén gibt es ein verlassenes Gefängnis was zu einer regelrechten Touristenattraktion geworden ist. Manche Leute sind verrückt genug um hier sogar zu nächtigen.
During the hike “La Vuelta de Huemul” in El Chalten, our Belgian friend was busy out marking the beauty of the famous Road Carretera Austral which crosses a big part of Chile, specifically the Patagonian part. We realized it could be a nice opportunity to get to know this country before moving northwards. Because public transport is rare we decided to rent a car for 25 days. In Puerto Montt we didn’t find one, so we went north by bus, visited Valparaiso and Santiago and took the car from there. We didn’t know yet that the taxes would be tremendous, but in the end it was a magical trip. We crossed so many different landscapes, canyons, deserts, forests like in Jurassic Park, blue rivers, the famous marble caves, we made Rafting in Futaleufu and we even saw the South point Villa O’Higgins. Funny was it to take Chilean hitchhikers which was great to learn about country and people. Due to weather conditions and freedom to sleep wherever it seems nice, we slept in the back of the car.
We have to mention that some travelers choose to hitchhike and some do it by bike. Hitchhikers have to know that there is not so much traffic in the rural areas. We took some along the way and they told us that you have to wait for hours. Same for bikers, the weather is shifting quickly and it rains a lot. Some streets are very steep and have big sharp stones even if the road is constantly in construction to improve. Considering the time of visa we decided the easiest way by car and enjoyed to be flexible.

Während unserer Wanderung „La Vuelta de Huemul“ in El Chaltén machte unser belgischer Freund ununterbrochen Werbung für die Schönheit der berühmten Straße Carretera Austral, welche einen großen Teils des südlichen – patagonischen- Chiles zugängig macht. Wir nahmen uns die Idee zu Herzen und entschieden uns für diese Möglichkeit das Land Chile kennenzulernen bevor wir weiter in den Norden ziehen. Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel gibt es so gut wie nicht, wir hatten keine Fahrradausrüstung wie die Belgier und zu Fuß beziehungsweise per Anhalter ist sehr ungewiss und mitunter mit viel Zeit verbunden. In Puerto Montt war es unmöglich ein Auto zu finden, so beschlossen wir mit dem Bus erst Valparaiso und dann Santiago zu erkunden. Nach der Woche in der Hauptstadt mieteten wir ein Auto für 25 Tage und machten uns auf den Weg. Da wussten wir noch nicht, was an Mautgebühren auf uns zukommt bis Puerto Montt, aber am Ende war es eine magische Reise. Wir passierten soviele verschiedene Landschaften, Täler, Wüsten, Wälder wie in Jurassic Park, blaue Flüsse, sahen die berühmten Marmorhöhlen, machten Rafting in Futaleufu und wir schafften es sogar bis zum Südpunkt in Villa O‘Higgins. Es war lustig und interessant Chilenische Tramper mitzunehmen, es ist ein guter Weg mehr über Land und Leute zu lernen. Aus Gründen der Bequemlichkeit und des Wetters schliefen wir im Kofferraum des Autos.
Noch eine Info für Hitchhiker, es gibt Gebiete wo nicht viel Verkehr ist, vor allem in den ländlichen Bereichen. Wir nahmen ständig Leute mit, manchmal spät am Abend und sie berichteten uns, dass es fast üblich ist mehrere Stunden zu warten. Für Radler geben wir zu bedenken, dass ihr gute Ausrüstung für eure Reifen braucht und Warnkleidung. Es ist oft nebelig, manche Straßen sind sehr kurvig oder eng und große Teile sind immernoch Schotterwege, auch wenn in den letzten Jahren viel gebaut wurde. Es regnet oft, selbst in der Sommersaison. Für uns war auch das Visa ein zeitbegrenzender Faktor und wir waren froh über die Entscheidung ein Roadtrip zu machen und dadurch flexibel zu sein.

Everything start with a first step. Alles beginnt mit einem ersten Schritt. Tout commence par un premier pas.
El Calafate is one of the most famous city in Patagonia. This little town is a major touristic place due to its proximity with Los Glaciares National Park, home of many glaciers, including the well known Perito Moreno. The town by itselfis not exciting, just a main street full of tour operators surrounded by several little streets, cluttered by hotels and hostels.
Like all Patagonia, no surprise, this is an expensive place. But here are the tours and activities that will cost you a lot. Especially if you don’t have a car, it will be difficult to enjoy El Calafate without spending money on tours. Laura and me did two of them. The famous trek on ice from Hielo & Aventura and a long boat ride across Lago Argentino with MarPatag. The boat ride was overall a very pleasant experience. We spent all day on a large boat, sailing across the lake from glacier to glacier, surrounded by a beautiful and pristine nature. The captain made a lot of breaks along the ride to let people take pictures of the landscapes, floating icebergs and of course, glaciers. Sure we were not alone on the deck, in fact it’s quite crowded and you have to wrestle your way through the people to make good pictures but it’s worth it. The view from the Spegazzini is one of the most stunning of the National Park. It cost us 250 euros and we think it was money well spent. For the ice trekking you can only go with Hielo & Aventura. When you are in their very professional agency the tour seems to be amazing, but unfortunately, in reality it’s not. The trek was an over organized stroll on a tiny part of the glacier. In a group of twenty people we walked in line on a path so beat up that it is not anymore ice under your feet, but grey slush. Everywhere we looked there were people, groups of people walking in line on the exact same path. No way to go anywhere out of this path, you walk and stop when the guide say so. We had to be very quick and creative to take pictures without folks on it. You will have probably more thrill going out in your own garden. Adventure 0, tourist trap 1. After a bit more than an hour on ice we get back on the bus. In fact we spent most of the day in transportation. For 270 euros it is really a waste. Honestly don’t do it except maybe if you have too much cash and time to spare.
El Calafate is really worth a trip there you will just need to be wise on what you’re doing as tours because not all of them are worth it. Go there for spectacular views not for thrilling adventure.

El Calafate ist eine sehr bekannte Stadt Patagoniens dank der Nähe zu dem Nationalpark Los Glaciares mit vielen spektakulären Gletschern, unter anderem der berühmte Perito Moreno. Die Stadt selbst ist nicht wirklich besonders, eine Hauptstraße voll gepackt mit Reiseveranstaltern und umgeben mit kleinen Straßen voller Hostels und Hotels.
Wie alles in Patagonien ist es teuer, aber hier kommt man kaum drumherum ins Portemonnaie zu greifen für eine Expedition was fast obligatorisch ist um von dem Park zu profitieren, vor allem wenn man kein Auto hat. Laura und ich haben zwei Touren mitgemacht, die hier angepriesene Wanderung auf dem Eis mit dem Veranstalter Hielo&Aventura und eine Tages-Bootsfahrt auf dem See Argentino des Veranstalters MarPatag. Die Bootstour für stolze 250€ für zwei Personen war eine positive Überraschung. Im Laufe des Tages fuhren wir vier Buchten mit zahlreiche Perspektiven auf die Gletscher an. Vom Boot aus sahen wir fantastische Landschaften und erfreuten uns an dem einzigartigen Anblick der driftenden Eisberge. Der Kapitän machte einige Foto-Stopps und es ist schon eine Herausforderung bei dem Gedränge auf dem Deck ein paar gute Fotos zu schießen, da die meisten Leute ihre Klischee-Selfies mit Ellenbogen freikämpfen. Doch die Aussichten sind so erstaunlich, dass man lernt dieses Chaos zu ignorieren und einfach die Wunder der Natur zu genießen. Die Aussicht auf den Spegazzini Gletscher war einfach das beeindruckendste vom Park. Die Wanderung auf dem Eis wird ausschließlich von Hielo&Aventura angeboten, wird professionell und viel versprechend präsentiert, beinahe wie ein Traum. Leider ist es in Wirklichkeit ein traurige Investition. In Gruppen zu je 20 Leuten liefen wir im Gänsemarsch am Rande des Eisfeldes des Perito Moreno Gletschers. Unter unseren Füßen war kein echtes Eis mehr, diese ausgetrampelte Piste glich eher grauem Schotter aufgrund der hunderten Touristen tagtäglich. Um uns herum andere Gruppen, Menschen so weit das Auge reicht.Äußerst schwierig erwies es sich Fotos zu erhaschen ohne irgendjemanden auf dem Bild zu haben und die Gruppenleiter ließen kaum Zeit. Sie diktierten wann und wohin zugehen ist, niemand durfte die Kette verlassen. Nichts davon war in irgendeiner Weise abenteuerlich, ein Spaziergang im Garten würde mehr Gänsehaut verursachen. Nach nur anderthalb Stunden geht es zum Bus zurück indem wir ohne die meiste Zeit des Tages verbrachten. 270 Euro für zwei Personen, diese Exkursion können wir nur abraten.
El Calafate lohnt sich als Ausflug, die Gletscher und Landschaften sind unglaublich beeindruckend, aber man sollte die Ausflüge weise auswählen.

El Calafate est, après Ushuaia, un autre haut lieu de la Patagonie. La petite ville est surtout connue et prise d’assaut par les touristes pour sa proximité avec le parc national Los Glaciares, abritant de nombreux glaciers spectaculaires, dont le fameux Perito Moreno. La ville en elle même n’est pas incroyable, c’est un petit hameau touristique typique avec son avenue principale débordante d’agences d’expédition et sa périphérie parsemée d’hôtels et d’auberges de jeunesse. Comme le reste de la Patagonie, tout est assez chère. Mais ici ce qui pèsera le plus lourd sur votre budget, ce sont bien les tours organisés, presque obligatoire pour profiter du parc national, surtout si vous n’avez pas de voiture. Laura est moi en avons effectués deux, le très connus trek sur glace avec la compagnie Hielo & Aventura et une journée en bateau sur le Lago Argentino avec MarPatag.
Le tour en bateau bien que coûteux (250 euros pour deux) à été plutôt une bonne surprise. Durant toute le journée le bateau nous à mené aux quatre coins du lac pour nous permettre d’observer plusieurs glaciers. Au fil de l’eau nous avons pu admirer les splendides paysages du parc ainsi que les nombreux iceberg dérivant. Le capitaine à fait plusieurs pauses, laissant aux passager le temps photographier à tout va. Il est vrai qu’il y avait beaucoup de monde sur le pont et qu’il à fallu jouer des coudes pour prendre de beaux clichés. Mais les point de vue sont tellement spectaculaires, que pour nous cela à été de l’argent bien investit. La vue sur le glacier Spegazzini est tout simplement une des plus belle du parc. Le trekking sur glace n’est assuré que par le compagnie Hielo & Aventura, est assis dans leurs agences très professionnel, l’expédition semble un rêve. Malheureusement une fois sur le terrain, c’est autres choses. L’aventure que l’on nous avait promis ne fut rien d’autre qu’une farce très encadrée menez au pas de charges. Par groupe de 20, nous avons marché à la queue leu leu à la périphérie de l’immense champ de glace du Perito Moreno. Sous nos pieds, la glace à force d’être battus par les incessant groupes de touristes, n’étais plus qu’une bouillis grisâtre. Autour de nous , des groupes, partout des gens. Très difficile alors de faire de belle photos, il nous a fallu rivaliser d’ingéniosité pour en prendre sans personnes dessus. De toute manière les guide ne laisse personne sortir de la file indienne. Nous nous arrêtons et avançons au signal. Rien ici n’est aventureux, une sortis dans votre jardin pourrez vous apporter plus de frissons. Après une heures et demie sur une glace défigurez par la foule, nous sommes retournés au bus, dans lequel nous avons passé le plus clair de la journée. 270 euros pour deux, nous ne pouvons que vous déconseiller cette sortie.
El Calafate vaut le détour, les glaciers et les paysages y sont incroyables, mais il vous faudras du discernement pour choisir les activités.

Ready for Safari? Welcome to La Pampa! The National Park Luro next to Santa Rosa was a tricky one. We passed several hours figuring out how to get there and waiting for the bus. We reached the Park with setting sun and walked alone to the center after a ranger was talking insanely fast to us every information he could give (including the possibility to get attacked by a Puma). Guanacos looked at us very judging what we are doing here, a fox stopped by and then there were the earth owls. What a hilarious animal, sitting all over the field and rushing into their cave when it’s might too dangerous. Exhausted and sweating we are happy to sleep in a cabaña and enjoy the Park the next day. We observe mostly birds and the salt laguna which has unfortunately no water and accordingly no flamingos. Going back is even more complicated, but the rangers give us a lift. What a weird place, no real access and so empty. To be fair we where at the park off season, it‘s probably why it was so strange. But nonetheless it is a nice place to enjoy quiet and beautiful pampa‘s landscapes. Be ready to cope with the hot temperatures if you go there and bring some fresh water.

Êtes vous prêts pour le safari? Bienvenue dans la Pampa! Le parc national de Luro près de Santa Rosa n’est pas forcément des plus simple d’accès. Il nous a fallu pas mal de temps pour trouver le bon bus et ensuite nous avons passés de longue heures à l’attendre. À destination nous avons été accueillis par un ranger enthousiastes au débit de parole impressionnant. Il nous a abreuvé d’informations et nous as également dit qu’il ne fallait mieux pas sortir des sentiers au risque de tomber sur un puma; une rencontre potentiellement mortelle. Sous le soleil couchant nous avons ensuite marché longuement jusqu’à nôtre cabane, sur le chemin nous avons croisé des guanacos, des zorros et des chouettes terrestres. Ces dernières sont très amusantes à observer avec attention chacun de vos mouvements puis à disparaître dans l’instant sous terre si elle vous estime trop proche. Épuisé et ruisselant de sueur nous avons apprécié d’avoir une cabane et non une simple tente. Le lendemain nous avons fait le tour du parc ou nous avons surtout vus de nombreux oiseaux et des lagune à secs. Malheureusement sans eau pas de flamant rose, l’une des attractions du parc. Pour revenir à Santa Rosa c’est encore plus compliqué mais heureusement des rangers nous ont déposé en ville après leurs journées de travail. La parcs et assez étrange et pas très simple d’accès pour une des attractions majeure de la zone. Pour être honnête nous étions en hors-saison et c’est sans doute pour ça que le parc était si vide. Dans tous les cas c’est un endroit idéal pour profiter du calme et de la beauté des paysages de la pampa. Préparez vous toutefois à affronter le soleil brûlant et prenez de l’eau bien fraîche avec vous.
Lust auf Safari? Willkommen in La Pampa! Der Nationalpark Luro bei Santa Rosa war nicht einfach zu erreichen. Nach einigen Stunden Recherche und Warten kamen wir in dem nahezu menschenleeren Park im warmen Schein des Sonnenuntergangs an. Der Wärter am Eingang bombardierte uns mit Informationen und selbst mit Müdigkeit verstanden wir den Hinweis auf eine mögliche Attacke eines Pumas. Von denen sahen wir nichts, aber von anderen Tierchen, wie den Guanacos, die uns abschätzend beäugten, ein Patagonischer Fuchs (Chilla) strich leise durchs Gebüsch und dann begegneten wir den Präriekäuzen. Diese sitzen in Grüppchen auf Sträuchern und auf der Wiese und rennen kopfüber in ihre Erdhöhlen wenn Gefahr droht.
Erschöpft und schwitzend bei der immer noch herrschenden Hitze sind wir glücklich in einer besser temperierten Hütte zu schlafen um den Park am Folgetag zu genießen. Wir beobachten viele verschiedene Vogelarten und sind etwas überrascht, dass die Lagune ein Salzsee ist statt ein Wasserparadies mit Flamingos.
Die Rückkehr in die Zivilisation erscheint noch komplizierter, doch die Mitarbeiter des Parks nehmen uns freundlicherweise mit zurück in die Stadt. Man muss fairerweise dazu sagen, dass wir außerhalb der Saison hier her kamen. Was für ein seltsamer Ort, so vereinsamt, trocken und doch voller Leben, voller Entdeckungen. Bereitet euch gut vor gegen die stechende Hitze am Tag und nehmt genug frisches Wasser mit, hier lernt man es definitiv zu schätzen.
